            Philippines has a lot of Cultural and Historical heritages with it’s beautiful islands. Filipino is more likely known to love their culture and are encouraged to develop and preserve the heritage, may it be physical or intangible heritage. It is visible to the traditions, culture and historical places among Filipino people that they are really giving importance to their inheritance from the ancestors. One of the examples of the Cultural and Historical heritage of Philippines is in Bohol. Bohol has a number of very old churches way back from the time of the Spanish colonization. One of its Historical Heritage that is known among the Philippines and specifically in Bohol is the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception or commonly known as the Baclayon Church in Baclayon, Bohol. This church is considered as one of the oldest stone churches in the Philippines. It is said to be one of the best preserved churches within the region that was built by Jesuits and was added by the Augustinian recollects of modern facades and stone buildings that now surrounds it in the 19th Century.

              It is the first church where Spanish Jesuit missionaries stayed but soon forced to move out because of the fear from the Moro marauders. This church was soon renovated and improved as time goes by. Beside it is a convent that has a museum for which includes antiquities and other historical things.

          The Baclayon church acquired great damage from the magnitude 7.2 earthquake and the center was near Sagbayan, Bohol. The Diocese of Tagbilaran planned to restore the church and all the other churches damaged by the earthquake. The church was completely restored in the year 2017 and was reopened to the public in February 27, 2018.
